Six years ago from right now I was sitting in a hospital bed waiting patiently (sort of…) for my baby boy to enter my life. Seems like yesterday!
My Aunt Megan drove up from Utah to throw me a baby shower on Tuesday, July 27, 2004. Towards the end of the baby shower I started to feel some pains in my groin area. I assumed they were just normal pregnancy pains and didn’t think much of it. I decided I was too tired to put away and organize all the gifts and that I would do it the next day. After tossing and turning in bed and waiting for baby to get rid of the hiccups (his nightly routine…), I finally started to doze off about 11:30 pm and just then my water broke! It took me a minute to realize that that’s what it actually was and I hurried downstairs to tell my mom and dad. Since I wasn’t having any contractions or pains, I took my time packing and getting to the hospital. We arrived at the ER about 6:30 am and checked in. They got me all set up and told me to start walkin to get this baby here! And boy did he ever take his sweet time…. My mom and I walked and walked and walked all around the hospital and I even got permission to walk around outside. He was perfectly content and didn’t want to go anywhere but stay right where he was! Finally about 3 or 4 that afternoon they decided to hook me up to potossen to get things moving along. Because my water had broken, I had to have him within 24 hours. This was not a fun experience. I was starving, hot, sick, uncomfortable and in pain! I was bed-ridden because of the IV and I just wanted to get out of there… I got an epidural as soon as I could, and tried to bear through contractions for about 7-8 more hours. FINALLY, at 12:28 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2004 Carsyn Joseph Weber was born. He weighed 7 lbs. 0 oz and was 19 in. long. He was an immediate Momma’s boy and I don’t think he’ll ever grow out of it :-) Mommy and Grandma and Grandpa Tippetts, Aunt Tara, and Aunt Megan were exhausted and in much need of sleep! But very excited that Carsyn was healthy and in our lives.

Carsyn and I have been very blessed to have each other this past 6 years. We have been through a lot together, but nothing that either of us will ever regret. He has been my rock and even though he is a very active and determined little boy, I wouldn’t trade him for anything else! Mommy loves you, Carsyn!
